We are almost there: December, the month of lights and Holidays is only days away! All cities in the Dallas Metroplex are preparing for the events, celebrating Christmas. Since we are in Collin County, I will take a note for few of the events planned around us:
Christmas in the Square – Frisco
The City of Frisco’s Merry Main Street is Saturday, Dec. 3, 2016 5-9 PM.
Special Event Night: Saturday, Dec. 17th from 5 to 10 PM

Richardson’s 44th Annual Christmas Parade
The 44th Annual Richardson Christmas Parade will take place Saturday morning, December 3rd. This year’s parade theme is Magical, Musical Christmas! Individuals and groups are encouraged to represent this theme with their costumes, vehicles and floats. The parade will begin at 9:00 AM and will travel north from Richardson Square shopping center on Plano Road to Apollo Road and will disband at the Huffines Ball Field parking lot.
Richardson Santa’s Village is a tiny town of 16 holiday dwellings on the north side of City Hall. Each colorful building offers children a fun activity and even a visit with Santa Claus! Attendees can also enjoy live performances, holiday photo ops and warm up with a cup of hot chocolate or a snack.
Dickens in Historic Downtown Plano
Friday, December 2 – 5:00 – 9:00 PM
Tree lighting – 7:00 PM. Haggard Park 907
Dickens is a FREE annual event produced by the City of Plano. Nestled in the heart of the Downtown Plano Arts District, Dickens is the holiday event of the year! Live entertainment, delicious food, a variety of attractions, and a visit from Santa allow for everyone in the family to have something to enjoy.
From 5:30 to 8:00 p.m., various live performances from local bands will take place throughout the festival area. At 8:00pm, Texas’s favorite country duo, Bruce Robison and Kelly Willis, will take the stage at McCall Plaza to close out this year’s Dickens with their smooth harmonies and eclectic tunes.
Wylie Festival of Lights Christmas Parade
The parade will be at 7:30 PM, December 3rd on Ballard Ave. Following the parade is the annual tree lighting at Wylie Olde City Park.
Annual Christmas Tree Lighting – Allen
On December 2nd. City of Allen has the grand lighting of its Christmas tree, featuring more than 20,000 lights. The family friendly event includes surprises, live entertainment and a visit from Santa Claus and his elves. Event will be between 6:30 and 8 PM at Allen Civic Plaza, 305 Century Parkway.
