The Texas Commission on the Arts recently announced the designation of seven new cultural districts, including Downtown Plano Cultural District.
Approved districts are special zones that have been noted for their cultural importance and resources which are used to generate business, attract tourists and contribute to our economy.
Downtown Plano is a vibrant community of urban living, performing arts, galleries, event venues, plus unique shops and restaurants that are independently owned and operated; all set against a backdrop of historic buildings, the Plano Station Dart Rail, and Haggard Park.
Downtown Plano — about a square mile of old-fashioned street lamps, cobblestone streets and family-owned business that manages to feel both small-town and urban at the same time — was named as one of the four best neighborhoods in the country.
